This presentation was a part of a seminar given the 18th of March 2022 at the Nordic Institute of Latin American Studies of Stockholm. The research seminar allowed a collective discussion regarding three texts exploring the linkage between scholars in culture and language, and their influence in the geopolitical shaping of territories. The texts analyzed were Orientalism from Edward Saïd (1978), Imagined communities (1983) from Benedict Anderson and The location of culture from Homi K. Bhabha (1994).
This presentation highlighted the main contributions of the book The location of culture and showed why it is so central in the field of postcolonial studies.
