This folder contains sound material and photographs used in the study:

Rådsten Ekman, M., Lundén, P., and Nilsson, M.E. (2015). Similarity and pleasantness assessments of water-fountain sounds recorded in urban public spaces.
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 138, 3043-3052.
doi: 10.1121/1.4934956

Three types of files are included in the folder (32 of each type, one for each fountain):
(1) *.wav
These are mono wav-files used for sound analysis (e.g., Fig. 4 of the paper).
The overall level of the sounds (LAeq,30s dB) is given in the file file_numbering.txt

(2) *_B.wav
These are B-format ambisonic files used in the listening experiment.
See Section II.D. and Fig. 2 of the paper.

(3) *.tif
Photos of the fountains. Photographers: Maria Rådsten Ekman & Peter Lundén

Note that the numbering of the fountains in the article corresponds to the first number of the names of the *.wav-files (so please ignore the second number that was used in an early stage of data collection). These numbers are the rank order of the sounds from most to least pleasant according to the group data of the listening test (see Sec. III.A. of the paper).

In addition, three other files are included:
(i) file_numbering.txt
File number and average A-weighted sound pressure level of the 30 s experimental sound (LAeq,30s) of each sound. Comma-separated text. Information on each variable is given in the head of the .txt file (rows indicated with #).

(ii) recording_protocol.pdf
Time of recordings and GPS-coordinates for each fountain may be found here, as well as other information about the recordings (some in Swedish).

(iii) article_radsten_ekman_2015.pdf
This is the article.
