This presentation is a part of the course "Mediating Romance Language Literatures in a Global World" given at the master's level at Stockholm University. The course aims to discuss the historical and social-cultural factors that have contributed to promote or hinder literature mediation from the Romance language area in Scandinavia, especially in Sweden. In this presentation, the focus will be made on some specific editorial strategies with the example of some Francophone writers (Kim Thúy for instance) who were translated into Swedish quite early. Then, a final reflection will be made on the difficulty of categorizing Francophone literature/French literature.
