This document is a concise sketch of core Finnish grammar with footnotes detailing the historical background of various constructions and phenomena. The primary audience is students of the Uralic languages not primarily focused on Finnish, and linguists for whom sources in the Finnish language are difficult to approach.
The document has been lying around as a draft for some time - but my planned rework would turn it into a "Long Finnish Grammar with Historical Footnotes", i.e. a fundamentally different text. As the text is useful as it is, I feel justified in publishing the current version.
